Karen K. Green, 68, of Exeter died Tuesday October 15, 2013, at the Exeter Care Center in Exeter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Thomas Kuffel will officiate. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Chambers Cemetery at Chambers, Nebraska. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island is caring for the family. Karen was born June 4, 1945, in rural Bartlett, Nebraska to Victor and Mabel (Urban) Bollwitt. She grew up in the Bartlett area and received her education in country schools and in Bartlett. Karen married James R. Green on October 17, 1964, and made their home in Palmer, Nebraska. Survivors of the immediate family include her son & daughter in law, Joseph Scott & Susan Green of Ohio; one daughter & son in law, Kellie (Green) & Daniel Mickelsen of York, Nebraska, her parents, Victor and Mabel Bollwitt of ONeill, Nebraska; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Duaine and Josie Bollwitt of Iowa, Eugene and Lorinda Bollwitt of Montana and Gary and Melanie Bollwitt of ONeill; three sisters and four brothers-in-law, Shirley and Roger Dillon of Ewing, NE, Rita Bollwitt of South Dakota and Rebecca and Jerome Thunker of Bartlett William Bill Green of Palmer, NE and Floyd Green of Grand Island; five grandchildren, Jessica Green, Jennifer Green, Aric Mickelsen, Aaron Mickelsen and Alyssa Mickelsen.
