Kathleen 'Kathy' Rae Schultz

Rural Trumbull resident, Kathleen Rae Kathy Schultz, 68, passed away, Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Nebraska Heart Institute, Lincoln, NE. Rosary will be Friday, October 16, 2009 at 7:30 PM at St. Anns Catholic Church, Doniphan, NE with Father Andrew Kurz officiating. Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 10:30 AM at St. Anns Catholic Church, Doniphan, NE with Father Andrew Kurz officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 15, 2009 from 9 AM to 9 PM and Friday, October 16, 2009 from 9 AM to 4:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Trumbull, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Kathy was born April 28, 1941 to Melvin and Vaiona (Cue) Salmen in Fairfax, South Dakota. She has lived in the Trumbull area since 1956 moving there from Fairfax, South Dakota. She graduated from Trumbull High School in 1959. She married Gary L. Schultz on June 3, 1959. She worked for Riverside Lodge in Grand Island, NE as a LPN. She was a member of the St. Anns Catholic Church, Doniphan, NE, the St. Anns Altar Society, she was a Past President of the Pork Council Women, Past President of the Hastings Deanery, a member and past president of the Crosier Lay Apostolate. She enjoyed her grandchildren and participated in their activities. She was a true Go Big Red fan. She is survived by her husband Gary, of Trumbull, NE, her children, Jeff Schultz and wife Karen, of Doniphan, NE, Craig Schultz of Hastings, NE, Sandy Mazour and husband Lonnie of Trumbull, NE, and Angie Storer and husband Jared of Arthur, NE, 8 grandchildren, Tanya Schultz of Lincoln, NE, Kristy Howell and husband Jason of Gretna, NE, Meghan Schultz of Omaha, NE, Ashton and Tate Mazour of Trumbull, NE, Colten, Faith and Dakota Storer of Arthur, NE. Brothers and sisters, Dennis Salmen and wife Mary of Trumbull, NE, Jean Opbroek and husband Henry, Arlen Salmen, Robert Salmen and wife Sheila, Sharon Heyen and husband Jim, and Art Salmen and wife Betty all of Hastings, NE, and Carol Lytle and husband John of Papillion, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother -in-law, Harold and Grace Schultz and a sister Dorothy Salmen. A memorial will be established.
