Kay Nutzman, 57 of Grand Island, passed away Monday, July 25, 2016. Funeral Services will be Friday, July 29, 2016 at 10:30 AM at First Christian Church (2400 W. 14th Street) in Grand Island with Pastor Bill Harrold officiating. Interment will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, July 28 from 6 until 8 PM at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society, National Kidney Foundation, Vietnam Veterans of America or First Christian Church. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.
Kay LeAnne Nutzman was born June 17, 1959 to Robert W. Nutzman and Golda (Gerdes) Nutzman in Grand Island. She was employed by Redmon Homes and then Diamond Engineering as a payroll clerk for 31 and a half years. She was a member of First Christian Church, where she played bells and sang in the church choir. She participated in several bowling leagues; loved to crochet afghans for her family and friends; and loved to read. Kay participated in American Legion activities; Vietnam Veteran reunions and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She helped with the Harvest of Harmony Parade for many years. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her niece, nephews and great-niece and nephews. She loved her Huskers and Chiefs.
Kay is survived by her brother, Mike Nutzman; sister in law, Tandra Nutzman; sister, Sherry (Nutzman) Lieske; niece, Kelsey Nutzman; nephews, Brett (Sarah) Lieske; Adam Lieske; and Blair (Katie) Nutzman; great-niece and nephews, Kate; Sam; and Luke Lieske; and Braylon and Asher Nutzman. Kay was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; aunts and uncles.
