Kevin Scott Tennill, age 57, of Fairfield, Nebraska died on June 25, 2012 at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska. Kevin "Scott" was born on October 13, 1954, son of Ronald and Ramona (Koenig) Tennill at Redfield, South Dakota. He graduated high school in the spring of 1972, enlisted in the armed services and served at Ford Ord, California. He graduated from Brown Institute, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and was hired as a radio announcer at Redfield radio station and later in Aberdeen, South Dakota. While there he took some courses in communications at Northern State University. He left Aberdeen to work at a radio station in Grand Island, Nebraska where he covered the seven tornados they had in one day's time. He married Brenda (Reiflin) Arnett of Doniphan, Nebraska in 1983 and divorced in 1992. Kevin worked at a fiberglass manufacturing company for several years. Following an injury there he completed an Associate's Degree in biotechnology at the Community College of Hastings, Nebraska. He was employed by the U.S.D.A. at the Meat and Animal Research Center as a genome mapper. He was employed there until cancer ended his career and his life. In leisure he enjoyed all kinds of music, reading literature, and wrote wonderful poetry. He was an avid fan of the Old West and liked to attend Rendezvous. Kevin liked animals and time he spent on farms. He lovingly cared for his pet dogs "Hank", who passed, and expressed such sorrow at leaving his current best friend "Kip". He leaves to mourn his mother, Ramona Tennill, of Redfield, South Dakota and sister Melissa Randolph, of Kansas City; two nephews Jehsen Randolph and Jehmes Randolph, also of Kansas City, and two grand-nephews, Jordan and Joseph Randolph; as well as his many friends at the MARC and surrounding area. He was preceded in death by his father Ronald Tennill, and his maternal grandparents of Redfield, and paternal grandparents of Roodhouse, Illinois. An intimate celebration of his life was held on Monday June 25, 2012,according to his wishes.
