Kim E. Dibbern

Kim Elaine Dibbern, 63, of Cairo died October 3rd, 2017 peacefully at her home.



Graveside Services will be 11:30 A.M. Friday at the Berwick Cemetery in Cairo with the Reverend Brian Wright officiating. Memorials are suggested to the Christ Lutheran Church in Cairo and the Diabetes Association in lieu of flowers. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Kim was born on June 5, 1954 at Salina, KS to Keith and Vangie (Bowser) Sutton. She grew up in Solomon and received her education in Solomon, graduating from Solomon High School in 1972. Kim graduated from North Central Kansas Technical College in 1995, earning her RN pin. She earned her national accreditation from Princeton, NJ in 2001.



She was united in marriage to Steve Dibbern in 1996 at Beloit, KS. Steve worked as a diesel mechanic instructor at North Central Kansas Technical College, while Kim was a traveling registered nurse, and due to her failing health, she retired in 2010. Following Steves retirement in 2013, the couple moved to Cairo, NE. Kim enjoyed collecting and displaying her Santa Claus throughout the year, traveling including 4 trips to Alaska, and spending time with friends and her correspondents.



Survivors include her husband, Steve of Cairo; mother, Vangie Sutton-Lyne of Salina, KS; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Mike Box of Salina; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Connie Beale of Missouri; step-daughter and son-in-law, Brenna and Gerald Bergstrom of Kearney, NE; step-son and daughter-in-law, Sebastion and Dawne Dibbern of Maywood, NE; brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Debbie Sutton of McPherson, KS; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kenna and Danny Boyce of Salina, KS, Deanna and Jack Cossette of Salina, KS; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.



Kim was preceded in death by her father, Keith Sutton, infant nephew, Jeremy Sutton, and nephew Ryun Cossette.
