Lambert Larry Krolikowski

April 30, 1946 — December 28, 2015

Lambert Bert Krolikowski, 69, of Alda, Nebraska, joined the angels of heaven on Monday, December 28, 2015.

A celebration of Berts life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 2nd at Blessed Sacrament Church in Grand Island, NE. A visitation for Bert will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, January 1st with a Rosary starting at 7pm. Memorials can be made to the Saint Francis Cancer Treatment Center. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island, NE. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.

Bert was born April 30, 1946 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Edmund and Esther 'Woitaszewski' Krolikowski, and was the oldest of three boys. He graduated from Grand Island Central Catholic in 1964 and later attended Kearney State College. An outstanding athlete, he was a triple letter winner at both schools. On August 9, 1969 he married Mary J. Eurek in Ashton, NE. Bert and Mary had four children and five grandchildren. Bert worked as a cable splicer for the telephone company for over 30 years. He was a sports enthusiasts, rooting for his favorite teams the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Brooklyn Dodgers, the Boston Celtics and the Kansas City Royals. As a player, he added his skills to several teams and eventually co-founded the Blue Nights slowpitch softball team. He loved spending time with family and friends and could always be counted on for a cup of coffee and a story. He also enjoyed reading, music, telling jokes, and old movies.

Bert was devoted to his family and had a passion for attending his childrens and grandchildrens special events. His presence at sporting events was a given - either as a coach, official or vocal spectator. He guided countless young athletes over his years of coaching every sport from baseball to track. An advocate of education, he served as president of both the Alda and Central Catholic School Boards and was proud that all of his children attained higher education.

Bert was a devoted Catholic and served the Blessed Sacrament parish in several capacities including Eucharistic Minister, usher, and Parish Council member. He also lived his faith through the Knights of Columbus and by volunteering whenever his talents were needed.

Bert is celebrated by his wife, Mary, his children, Lori Sander and her husband David, Kevin Krolikowski and his wife



Tiffany, Sheila Johnsen and her husband Benjamin, Kayla Viebrock and her husband Andrew, and his faithful dogs



Prada and Wesley. His five grandchildren, Taylor Holz, Landon and Ryker Krolikowski, William and Samantha



Johnsen, and five Grand-dogs, Bailey, Madison and Sven Viebrock, and Buddy and Shadow Krolikowski. His brothers,



Francis and Jerome and their wives Janice and Dee and other family members.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Esther, his nephew, Chad Krolikowski and his four-legged



grandsons, Benten Sander and Gus Viebrock.
