Laura G. Karr

Former Kensington resident of Hastings, NE, Laura G. Karr, 94, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2006 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island, NE. Services will be Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 10:30 AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Barry Rempp officiating. Burial will be in the Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 31, 2006 from 9 AM to 9 PM with family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home. Mrs. Karr was born April 18, 1911, to Charles Henry and Mattie (Hackleman) Land in Juniata, NE. She graduated from the Juniata High School. She married Donald A. Karr on November 15, 1931; he died Dec 1, 1992. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. She taught Sunday school, and was in the church afternoon group. She was a member of the Reader Guild, and the YWCA. She enjoyed quilting and sewing in her home. She is survived by, 3 daughters, Joan and husband Leo Stamer of Grand Island, NE, Dian (Gangwish) and husband Don Webb, of Georgetown, TX, Judy and husband John Rairigh of Enterprise, AL and 1 son, Dale of Palm Beach, FL, 18 Grandchildren, 33 Great Grandchildren and 12 Great Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 son Jim, 2 brothers, 4 sisters and 1 grandson. Memorials may be given to the First United Congregational United Church of Christ.
