At our Alberding-Wilson location, Harvard, NE. Harvard residents, Laura Swarts, 54, passed away September 18, 2009 in a car accident near Harvard, Ne. Graveside services will be Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11 AM at the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE with Rev. Dave Johnson officiating. Laura was born July 22, 1955 to Charles W. and Mary Ellen Ruth (Johnson) Sigman in Hastings, NE. She grew up in Hastings, NE until the age of 10 when she moved to Harvard, NE with her family. She attended school in Harvard until 1971. She attended cooking classes at Central Community College in Hastings, NE. Laura was a care giver in Ord, NE until she was united in marriage to Berry Swarts on November 22, 1982 in Dodge City, Kansas. Laura took care of her parents with her sister Ronda. Laura was a person of few words but she was always there when her family needed her to be to listen or just for moral support. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Laura is with her mother and father watching over her little man Kyle Smith. She enjoyed taking care of her dogs, making bead jewelry and embroidery. Laura is survived by her husband Berry of Harvard, NE, 3 sisters, Louise Poor of Owosso, OK, Pat Latzel of Lincoln, NE, Ronda Sigman of Hastings, NE and 2 brothers Robert Hammond of Bellevue, NE and Lewis Sigman of Hastings, NE, 2 Uncles, Harry D. Johnson of Seattle, WA and Russell Sigman of ONeil, NE, and her mother-in-law, Daisy Swarts of Dodge City, KS along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents, and great nephew Kyle Smith. Memorials may be given to the family.
