Lavon M. 'Bonnie' Cafferty

August 10, 1926 — December 19, 2011

Hastings resident, LaVon Bonnie M. Cafferty, 85, passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at her home. Services will be Friday, December 23, 2011 at 11 AM at the First Congregational Church, Hastings, NE with Rev. Barry Rempp officiating. Private family burial at the Fairfield Cemetery, Fairfield, NE, prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the family. Bonnie was born August 10, 1926 to Clair and Gladys (Shultz) McReynolds in Fairfield, NE. She attended and graduated from the Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha, NE. She married and later divorced John B. Cafferty. Bonnie lived in Bellflower, CA until her retirement from the Security National Bank. Bonnie was a member of the Greater Los Angeles Deaf Womens Bowling Association for many years and the WIBC Association. She loved to bowl, travel and won many awards and trophies. She traveled from tournament to tournament from New England to the west coast. She has lived in the Hastings area since 1991 coming from Bellflower, CA. She was most proud of her family that included 2 children, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She loved teaching the grandchildren to sign especially how to sign I love you. She is survived by her daughter, LaVon C. Connie Adcock, and son, Thomas R. Cafferty and wife Cathy, 2 grandchildren, Lisa Baker and husband Dave, and Jason Cafferty and wife Erin, 4 great grandchildren, Megan, Grayson, Anna and JT, all of Hastings, NE, and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Glenn Cafferty, aunts and uncles.
