LaVon Rose Pullins

LaVon R. Pullins, 86, of Grand Island, NE died on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Grand Island, NE. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Apfel Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Kilstrom officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. at Apfel Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at the Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. 

LaVon was born on August 5, 1937, at Hastings, NE to Russell and LaVetta (Hollister) Williams. She grew up in the Grand Island area and received her education in Wood River, NE. LaVon was united in marriage to Donald Geiger in Grand Island, NE they divorced, and she would later marry James Pullins. 

She was employed by Dreisbachs, Skagway, and Wedgewood Nursing Home. LaVon was a member of the New Hope Revival Center Church and the Spirit of Life Church. 

LaVon is survived by her sons: Daniel (Roxanne) Pullins and Terry (Jody) Pullins; daughters: Robyn (Barry) Decker, Deloris (William) Fitzsimons, and Ronda (Randy) Carmichael; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers: Ernie (Susan) Williams and Melvin Williams; sisters: Mary Davis and Roma Sutter; and sisters-in-law Donna Williams and Mary Williams.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Pullins; children: Valerie Geiger and Paul Pullins; granddaughter, Jennifer; and brothers: Earl, Ray, and Ronnie Williams.
