At our Kenesaw loacation, the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Kenesaw resident, Lawrence J Uden, 97 passed away Tuesday October 19, 2010 at the Kenesaw Haven Home, Kenesaw, NE. Services will be Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 10 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE with the Pastor Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be Thursday. October 21, 2010 from 5 PM to 9 PM and Friday, October 22, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Lawrence was born August 3, 1913 to Fred and Mary (Frese) Uden near Prosser, NE. He attended the Christ Lutheran School and Prosser High School. He married Wauneta L. Finnigsmier on March 31, 1940. They lived and farmed near Kenesaw, NE until retirement in 1978, they then moved into Kenesaw. Lawrence was active in the community, serving on the Kenesaw Public School Board and the Kenesaw township board. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE where he held various offices on the church council and was a member of several organizations. His hobbies were fishing, camping traveling, woodworking and small appliance repair. He is survived by three daughters, Charlotte Burr and husband Dennis of Juniata, NE, Rose Schroeder and husband Leonard of Kenesaw, NE and Alice Goodman and husband Michael of Spring Hill, Florida, nine grandchildren, Melanie and husband Arlen Gangwish of Shelton, NE, Mark Burr and wife Marcy of Juniata, NE, Marcy Jacobsen and husband Eric of Omaha, NE, Michael Schroeder and wife Nancy of Juniata, NE, Timothy Schroeder and wife Nancy of Urbandale, IA, Mitchell Schroeder and wife Liz of Kenesaw, NE, Troy Schroeder and wife Leslie of Hastings, NE, and Michele Goodman and Emily Goodman of Spring Hill, Florida, 19 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, Jaxon Ebner, two sisters, Dorothy Slater of Waterloo, IA and Irene Struss and husband Robert of Kenesaw, NE, two sister-in-laws. Dorothy Uden of Hastings, NE and Carol Uden of Columbus, NE. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wauneta, two brothers Elmer Uden and Marvin Uden, one sister Leona Oelschlager, and a great granddaughter, Ashton Burr. Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE or the Lutheran Hour.
