Leanne Marie Mcmullen

Leanne Marie McMullen, 67 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island.



Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. Father Todd Philipsen will be officiating. Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.



Visitation will begin at 4:00 pm Monday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church concluding with a parish rosary at 7:00 pm. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.



Leanne was born February 22, 1948 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Arnold and Agnes (Wissing) Roepker. She was raised on the family farm in St. Libory and attended St. Libory Catholic School. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in Grand Island and attended Lincoln School of Comerce. She was united in marriage to Danny McMullen of Grand Island in 1969. She worked at Pearle Optical in downtown Grand Island as a dispensing optician. She worked there for several years and then went to work for Baasch Eyewear. After that, she worked at Pearle Vision Center in the mall and then the store across the street from the mall. Her last 21 years she spent with Eyecare Professionals /Grand Island Optical in the Grand Island office also ran the satellite office in Ravenna. Leanne retired in 2011 when she was diagnosed with thynoma cancer.



She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. Her world centered around her grandchildren. She loved them more than anything and loved going to their activities. She enjoyed playing cards, going to her cousins supper monthly and to casinos.



Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Dan McMullen of Grand Island; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kari McMullen of Kearney; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Travis Grabowski of Cairo; 3 grandchildren, Emma and Trevin Grabowski, and Samuel McMullen; 3 step-grandchildren, Madi, Colten, and Jacob Dimmitt; sister and brother-in-law, Darlene and Ken Jansen of Grand Island; mother-in-law, Betty McMullen of Grand Island; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.



Leanne was preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Edgar McMullen.
