Leona Mae Boudreau

October 12, 1925 — June 5, 2013

Hastings resident, Leona Mae Boudreau, 87, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Graveside memorial service will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at 2 pm at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Leona was born on October 12, 1925 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Owen and Hazel (Townsend) Wright. Leona had one sister-Eileen Steiger of Beatrice, NE. Leona was confirmed October 2nd, 1938. She enjoyed playing on the city of Hastings softball team. She entered into marriage on October 14th, 1943 to Richard Dale Boudreau Sr. They lived first in Hastings, NE and then moved to Denver, Colorado for 20 years before returning to Hastings, NE. Their union produced a son and two daughters- Richard Boudreau Jr-deceased, Kay Gelder-deceased, and Cindy Baker of Riverside, California. Leona was a member the 1st United Methodist Church in Hastings, Nebraska. She loved to play bingo and loved the different puppies she owned throughout the years. She worked a number of different jobs before becoming a full time caregiver to her mother-Hazel and her husband-Richard. She has four grandsons-Tobby Rask, Matthew Baker and Troy Baker, all of California, and Jamie Gelder, Hastings, Nebraska. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Gerald Steiger, her niece, Jeri Hinrichs and 4 daughters all of Hastings, Nebraska, her daughter, Cindy Baker and husband-Jeffery of California, and 4 grandsons and 3 great-grandchildren.
