Leopoldo Guerrero Tirado, 87, of Wood River, died 5-21-2021 at GI Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be 5/25/21 at 1pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Jorge Canela officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on 5/24/21 with the Rosary to follow shortly after.
Leopoldo was born on 5-25-1934 in Jerecuaro, Guanajuato, Mexico to Guadalupe Tirado and Virgino Guerrero. He grew up in Ojo de Agua de Mendoza and received his education at Ojo de Agua de Mendoza. He was united in marriage to Emma Rodriguez Garcia on February 1, 1954 at Ojo de Agua de Mendoza. After which the couple lived together in Ojo de Agua de Mendoza and later in Wood River, Nebraska. He was employed at Gibbon Packing Plant, Monsanto, and JBS throughout his lifetime. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wood River. Leopoldo had a passion for agriculture and gardening. He enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Survivors include:
Sons: Leopoldo Guerrero, Ramon Guerrero, Miguel Guerrero, and Gerardo Guerrero.
Daughters: Celia Guerrero Rodriguez and Maria Refugio Guerrero Rodriguez
Number of grandchildren: 29
Number of great grandchildren: 46 and 1 great-great grandchild
Brothers: Valente Guerrero and Angel Guerrero
Sisters: Modesta Guerrero
Preceded in Death by: Guadalupe Tirado, Virgino Guerrero, Arnulfo Guerrero, Antonia Guerrero, and Emma Guerrero Rodriguez.
