Hastings resident, Lillian Fern Rupprecht, 76, died June 15, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Friday, June 19, 2009 at 10 AM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Marcus Mackay officiating. Burial will be at the Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2009 from 5 PM to 9 PM with the family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Lillian was born September 10, 1932 to Joe Sr. and Frances (Strnad) Picha in Chester, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church in Deshler, NE. She attended Chester public schools. She married Wayne Rupprecht on December 10, 1948. They moved to Deshler, NE, and then moved to Hastings in 1951. She worked at the Grand Island Ammunition Depot during the Viet Nam War, the Hastings Regional Center as a cook and then later worked at Westland Modular Homes in Hastings, NE. Lillian enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. She is survived by her husband Wayne, 1 daughter, Kathleen King and husband Wesley of Minden, NE, 1 son, Robert Rupprecht of Hastings, NE. 2 grandchildren, 3 step-granchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Lucille Ray of Hebron, NE and Ilene Tamme of Deshler, NE and 1 brother Veril Bishop of Fremont, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents and 7 brothers. Memorials may be given to the family.
