Lillian P. Windolph, 92, of Grand Island died Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, March 25, 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Reiners officiating. Interment will be at Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 4 until 7 pm at Peace Lutheran Church. Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church Shalom Society (LWML) or the Altar Guild at Peace. Apfel Funeral Home of Grand Island is serving the family. Lillian was born on December 11, 1920 in Dannevirke, NE, the daughter of Vilhelm & Inger (Dorscheus) Pedersen. She grew up in Dannevirke and received her education at Dannevirke and Howard County Schools. Lillian was united in marriage to Harold John Windolph on November 5, 1941 in Dannevirke, NE at the Danish Lutheran Church. The couple lived in St. Libory, NE where she was employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in 1943. The couple moved to Grand Island where she continued working for Northwestern Bell until 1983 when she retired after 38 years of service. Lillian was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Shalom (Lutheran Womens Missionary League), Altar Guild, and PeaceCore. Lillian also volunteered at St. Francis Hospital, Telephone Pioneers and other areas at Peace Lutheran Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Gayle and Barbara Windolph of Newnan, GA, daughter Beverly Kunze and husband Dale of Owasso, OK, 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford and Donna Pedersen and Albert and Jean Pedersen. Lillian was preceded in death by her husband Harold on June 9, 1991, her parents, 2 brothers, Carl and Jens Pedersen, 3 sisters, Christina and Emma Leth and an unnamed infant sister, 1 brother-in-law, Virgil Leth; 1 granddaughter, Alisa (Kunze) Campbell and 1 daughter-in-law, Rose Marie (Teasdale) Windolph.
