Linda L. Maruska, 81, of Grand Island died Friday, June 24, 2022, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 29th at the Berean Bible Church in Grand Island. Pastor Jim Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, June 28th at the Apfel Funeral Home – Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the Berean Bible Church.
Linda was born July 7, 1940, at Ayrshire, IA to Leonard and Martha (Prentice) Lowe. She grew up and received her education in Ayrshire, graduating from Ayrshire High School in 1958.
Linda married Dale Maruska on September 14, 1968, at Omaha, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island, and Linda did daycare in their home. They also lived in Marquette, NE for a time, and Linda worked as a CNA at Aurora Memorial Hospital. They later returned to Grand Island.
She was a member of the Berean Bible Church in Grand Island. She loved to play games and cards, and especially loved time spent with family and friends.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jodi Maruska of Grand Island and granddaughters, Emily and Erin; a daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Mark Steinle of Omaha, NE and granddaughters, Liesel and Penelope; a daughter, Jada Maruska of Grand Island; two brothers, Edward Lowe of Tacoma, WA and Terry (Virginia) Lowe of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Donna (John) Whitmer of Wheaton, IL; and sister-in-law Marilyn Lowe of Spencer, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Maruska; brother, Bill Lowe; three sisters, Sue Brachmann, Kay Curry and Patsy Jones; two brothers-in-law, Charlie Curry and F.G. Jones; and sister-in-law, Karilyn Lowe.
