Lloyd D. Steiner

Kenesaw resident Lloyd D. Steiner, 86, passed away, Sunday, May 14th, 2017 at Premier Estates of Kenesaw.



Services will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 2 pm at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw with Rev. Paul Warneke officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, 505 N. Bellevue, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials may be given to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw.



Lloyd was born January 20, 1931 to Godfrey and Olinda (Aufdenkamp) Steiner in Kenesaw, NE. He was baptized February 15, 1931 at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kenesaw. His mother Olinda passed away when he was young; he was then raised by his father and step-mother Golda (Faber) Steiner. He graduated in 1948 from the Kenesaw High School. He served in the in the United States Air Force from September 19, 1950 to September 10, 1954, he was a Staff Sergeant. He married Dolores Jean Eigbrett on December 28, 1950 in Kenesaw, Dolores passed away February 19, 2003. He was an appliance salesman at Hanzel Appliance in Hastings until 1986. He then drove trucks and set trailers.



He enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, bowling and socializing with friends, playing cards, marbles and dancing.



He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw, and the Kenesaw American Legion.



He is survived by two sons, Bryon Steiner and Gary Steiner both of Kenesaw, one brother, Harold (Margaret) Steiner of Holstein, one sisterinlaw , Rogene Steiner of Grand Island, good friend, Dorothy Mankin of Hastings and nieces and nephews.



He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Dolores, an infant daughter, two brothers, Roger and Lyle and step mother, Golda.
