Lloyd L. Larson

Lloyd L. Larson, 82, of Grand Island entered his heavenly reward on Friday, March 7 at Grand Island Regional Medical Center in Grand Island. Lloyd L. Larson was born March 20, 1942 in Loup City, Nebraska to Carl and Sena (Hansen) Larson. He graduated from Aurora High School and attended Hastings College.
He married Stacia A. Tully on December 15, 1961 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Grand Island. He was a wonderful father and a special Papa to all his grandchildren and great-grandson. He and Stacia loved to travel, particularly Alaska cruises. He was brilliantly creative with ideas and designs. Besides being an extremely talented artist, he was a man of many hobbies and skills. He was a Master Model Railroader and a member of the Tri-City Model Railroad Association. For many years he taught train layout courses throughout the country. One of his train layouts was featured on the cover of Model Railroader Magazine. In addition to hunting and fishing, he enjoyed coin detecting, and flying model airplanes. He was known to play bridge when Stacia needed a partner and he enjoyed movies, history and the Huskers.
He was a master storyteller and comedian, who had an incredible ability to entertain a crowd of any size with countless stories and jokes to match any situation. He loved to laugh and he loved it when those around him laughed. With his engaging personality, he made many friends during his life. In 1979, with his business partner, he started Top Flight and Replacement Flighting Supply in Aurora.
Survivors include, sons, Shane (Faith) Larson of Janesville, WI, Kirk (Jon Sparks) Larson of Los Angeles, CA, Lance (Patsy) Larson of Phoenix, AZ and Thor Larson of Omaha; grandchildren, Murphy (Ben) Tiggelaar, Shelby (Jon) Wuest, Palmer Larson, Hayley Larson, Liam Larson, Thor Larson II, Kacz Larson, Mathea Larson and Abrya Schneeberg; great-grandson Archie Tiggelaar; brother, Doug (Kathy) Larson of Johnson Lake, sister-in-law, Brenda Hall of Grand Island and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
