Lois Marie Slade

Hastings resident, Lois Marie Crandell Slade, 75, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at her home.

Services will be Monday, December 11th, 2017 at 11am at Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, with Derek Apfel officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, December 10th, 2017 from 4-8pm at Apfel Funeral Home with family present, Hastings and one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be given to the family to designate at a later date.

Lois was born December 8, 1941 to Charles and Fern Irene (Hines) Crandell in Hastings, NE. Lois graduated from Hastings Senior High School 1961.

She worked as a laborer at Tri-Ad Products, retiring in 2012.

Lois loved shopping; she was the most frugal woman that you would ever meet. She loved being with her family. She especially enjoyed her trips to Kansas to gamble. Lois enjoyed scratch tickets. Lois was a good cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.

She is survived by her son DeWayne L. Allison and significant other Alice of Hastings, one daughter RaNae (Crandell) Hughes and husband Gregory of Pinellas Park, FL, one brother, Ivan Crandell of Lincoln, NE, one sister Ruth Hastings of Hastings, 4 grandchildren and several niece and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Lillian Cates and Irene Mathews and two brothers, Clarence Crandell and Elmer Crandell.
