Lois P. Ernst

Hastings resident, Lois P. Ernst, 87, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Phelps Memorial Health Care, in Holdrege, NE. Services will be Friday, December 9, 2011 at 11 AM at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Barry Rempf officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2011 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Lois was born December 28, 1923 to Olaf Sigfred and Alma (Glansberg) Swanson in Holdrege, NE. She married LaVern Bud Ernst on July 12, 1943; he passed away February 5, 2000. She was employed by HEDC/Chamber of Commerce for a number of years, retiring in 1988. She is survived by one son Larry of Hastings, NE; 2 grandchildren, Amy Peirce of Hastings, NE and Ryan Ernst and wife Joni of Lincoln, NE; 3 great grand children, Jylz, Grey and Milan; 1 sister Margaret Hodge , 1 brother, Donald Swanson and 1 sister-in-law, Rose Ann Swanson, all of Holdrege, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 son Dick, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Memorials may be given to the donors choice.
