Lola May Dreher

Hastings resident Lola Mae Dreher, 98, of Hastings, passed away, Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at the Mary Lanning HealthCare, Hastings. Graveside service will be Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 11 am at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Arrangements by the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings. Lola was born on October 12, 1915, to Lee and Luella (Martin) James in Cowles, Nebraska, south of Blue Hill. She attended country schools and graduated from Blue Hill High School. She married Steve Dreher from Pauline, Nebraska, and they moved to Hastings. She was an 80-year resident of Hastings. She was a past member of the Assembly of God Church and worked at Pearl Optical and Crowleys Department Store. She is survived by three sons, including Keith of Hastings, Lyle of Hastings, and Kent of Redlands, California, four grandchildren, including Scott Dreher of San Diego, CA, Kelly Holmes of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Sheena and Jenae Dreher of Redlands, CA, and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Steve Dreher, and one sister, Lorene Betz.
