Yuma, AZ resident, Lorena M. Werner, 91, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her home. Services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Wanda Lutheran Church, near Juniata, NE with Rev. Harold King officiating. Burial will be in the Wanda Churchyard Cemetery, near Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, November 1, 2012 from 12 noon to 6 pm at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Lutheran Womens Missionary League, Hospice of Yuma or the Cemetery Trust Fund of Zion Wanda Lutheran Church, near Juniata, NE. Lorena was born on January 25, 1921 in rural Kenesaw, NE to Herman and Emma (Uden) Schukei. She married Elmer Werner on June 1, 1947. They lived in Hasting, NEs for several years before moving to Sidney, NE. In 1964 they relocated to Yuma, AZ where she has lived ever since. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Yuma, AZ and was active in the Lutheran Womens Missionary League. Lorena loved to quilt and spent many summer vacations quilting with the Zion Wanda Ladies. She is survived by her four children: Elliott Werner (Anita) of Santa Teresa, NM; Ron Werner (Nicki) of Yuma, AZ; Nancy Pendleton (Bob) of Yuma, AZ and James Werner (Ann) of Idaho Falls, ID and seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Elmer in December of 2005, one sister, Marilyn Nienhueser and two brothers, Arthur and Wesley Schukei.
