Lorrine 'Rene' Pesha

Lorrine Rene (Hodges) Pesha, 84, of Grand Island, died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at CHI St. Francis Health in Grand Island.



Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Leos Catholic Church. Father Don Buhrman will be officiating. Interment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.



Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Apfel Funeral Home. A Rosary will follow at 7 P.M. Memorials are suggested to St. Leos Catholic Church.



Lorrine was born on February 22, 1932 in Shelton, Nebraska to Elden and Dorothy (Smith) Hodges. She grew up in Lexington, NE and received her education in Lexington, graduating in 1950. She attended Doane College and graduated from Kearney State College.



She was united in marriage to Tom J. Pesha on August 30, 1951 in Lexington. Lorrine was a lifelong teacher. Teaching was her true passion in life. She also owned her own preschool for 12 years, Humpty Dumpty in Grand Island. She was a member of St. Leos Catholic Church, Bible Study Group, PEO, bridge club, book club, and sewing club. She was an artist and loved cooking for her family and friends.



Survivors include her husband, Tom of Grand Island; daughters and sons-in-law, Cyndy and Chris Schwensen of Clay Center, KS, Shannon and James Fitzgerald of Omaha; grandchildren and their spouses, Pesha and Chance Ptacek, Christianna and Scott Peterson, Tommy Fitzgerald, Jessica and Nick Lawson, and Holly Fitzgerald; 5 great-grandchildren, Brielle Ptacek, Tiernan Ptacek, Christian Peterson, Patrick Pesha Peterson, and Carey Peterson; nephews, Mike Hodges of Arizona and Mark Hodges of Arizona; sister-in-law, Nancy Hodges of Arizona.



Lorrine was preceded in death by her parents; 1 brother, Elden Lloyd Bud Hodges.
