Former Harvard and Clay Center, Louella Mae (Helzer) Alberding, 102 years, 10 months and four days, passed away Saturday, October 15th, 2011 in El Monte, CA. Services will be Monday, October 24, 2011at 2 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE with the Rev. Dean Joy officiating. Burial will be in the Clay Center Cemetery, Clay Center, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2011 from 12 noon to 7 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home, Harvard, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com Memorials may be given to the family. She was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on December 11th, 1908 to Henry and Molly (Roberts) Helzer, the sixth of 13 children. At a very early age she moved to Harvard with her family, where she attended Harvard schools. On December 11th, 1931 she was united in marriage with Harvey Fred Alberding of Clay Center. To this union two daughters, Myrna and Susan, were born. With her husband and daughter Myrna she moved to California in 1941. They settled in Pasadena where daughter Susan was born. The family remained there until 1957 at which time they built a home in Arcadia, CA. Louella resided there until 1985. After the passing of her husband she moved to El Monte, CA, where she spent the rest of her natural days. Louella attended non-denominational churches in California, where she was baptized. In her later years she traveled to Hawaii, Europe, Asia Minor and the Holy Land. She is survived by two sisters, Mae Baumann of Alhambra, CA and June Huber of Grafton, NE; her daughters, Myrna Alberding of El Monte, CA and Susan Munoz and husband Ruben of Bernalillo, NM; granddaughter Elise Rodriguez and husband Andrew of Rio Rancho, NM and great-grandchildren Susan Ramirez, Edward Rodriguez and John Rodriguez, all of Rio Rancho, NM. Louella was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and eight sisters.
