Marcia Louise Tomlinson

April 11, 1950 — February 9, 2017

Marcia Louise Tomlinson, 66 of Grand Island, died Thursday, February 9, 2017 at CHI St. Francis Health in Grand Island. Memorial Services will be 2:00 P.M. Monday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Pastor Jim Garfield will be officiating. A Private Burial of Ashes will be in the Chapman Cemetery.

Marcia was born on April 11, 1950 in Marshall, MN to Robert and Marion (Thompson) Dandurand. She enjoyed cooking and reading. She loved coffee everyday of her life. She enjoyed Bingo, garage sales, & horses. She also loved ceramics and she loved her family. Above all, she loved raising her two sons and watching her granddaughter grow up. Marcia worked for the telephone company for approximately 19 years, then worked worked for a cleaning service. She received her medication license in 1999 and worked in a nursing home until she was diagnosed with cancer. She was a cancer survivors the past few years. She loved to travel and visit her kids when she could.

Those left to cherish her memory include her 2 sons, Daniel Tomlinson and Michael Tomlinson; father, Robert Dandurand; longtime companion, Herb Hopkins; grandchild, Sarah Tomlinson; sisters, Mary Myers, Jane (Chad) Stroud and their twin boys. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marion; grandparents; aunts and uncles; and brother-in-law.
