Margaret Irene Haseloh, passed away on January 4, 2013, at the age of 84, from complications of Alzheimers disease. She was a resident of Sunrise Assisted Living, in Lenexa, Kansas. Services will be at the Harvard Methodist Church, Harvard, NE, Saturday, January 12th, at 11:00 am with Pastor Travis King officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service. She will be laid to rest in Harvard Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home in Harvard on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 12 noon to 9 pm and one hour prior to service time at the church. Margaret was born March 30, 1928 in Benkleman, NE to Alice (Myer) and Cary Will and had five siblings. She married Charles Haseloh on October 6, 1946. She and Charles settled in Harvard, NE where Margaret began a long career in education. She was only seventeen when she began teaching at a Harvard rural school. Later she received her Bachelors Degree from Hastings College. Margaret began teaching kindergarten in Harvard in 1959 and continued teaching there for 27 years. During this time she touched the lives of nearly every family within the Harvard School District. Margaret taught her own daughter and even one of her own grandchildren and later would be teaching children of former students. She retired from teaching in 1987, culminating a 37 year career touching the lives of children. It was one of her great loves and she put her heart and soul into every class she taught. Margaret was involved in many organizations, including Eastern Star, Rebekah Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Mother Advisor for Harvard Rainbow Girls, Delta Kappa Gamma, Daughters of the American Revolution and named Admiral in the Nebraska Navy by former Governor Frank Morrison. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Harvard. In 1964-65, she was elected State President of the American Legion Auxiliary. In Margarets spare time, she loved to crochet afghans, liked to dance, go on walks, travel, and especially loved having her grandchildren spend time with her during summer vacations. Margaret is survived by her brother, George Will & wife Marilyn of Hastings, NE, her son Gary Haseloh & wife Connie of Frisco, CO., and daughter Barbara Strueby & husband Joe of Lenexa, KS. She has five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Charles who died in 1994 and four of her siblings, Albert Will, Howard Will, Charles Will, and Ruth Finley. Margaret will be remembered by Harvard residents for the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony which she initiated and continues to this day and for the Avenue of Flags at the Harvard Cemetery. She was devoted to her country, her town and her family.
