Margaret L. Sorgenfrei, 69 of Grand Island, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center, Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Jack Gillam officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. Visitation hours will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the American Alzheimers Association. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family. Margaret L. Sorgenfrei was born March 7, 1944 in Kearney, Nebraska the daughter of Theodore V. & Laura E. (Dally) Cosner. She grew up in Shelton and received her education from Shelton High School graduating with the class of 1962. She was united in marriage to Larry Sorgenfrei, June 25, 1971 in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island where she was a home maker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Grand Island. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and fishing, but her greatest joy came from spending time with family and grandchildren. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Larry of Grand Island, four sons and daughters in law, Kevin D. & Susan Sorgenfrei of Kearney, Nebraska, Michael L. & Angela Sorgenfrei of Lincoln, Nebraska, Bradley J. & Tobby Sorgenfrei of Phillips, Nebraska, Mark L.M. & Jody Sorgenfrei of Alda, Nebraska, one daughter & son in law, Penny A. & Rob Evans of Phillips, Nebraska, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three sisters & brothers in law, Patricia Shields of Gibbon, Nebraska, Kathryn & Harold Johnson of Grand Island, Nebraska, and Carleen & Raymond Reeder of Shelton, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Cosner at the age of 3, sister & brother in law, Betty & Herb Winchester and brother-in-law Ron Shields.
