Margaret M. Albers, 89, of Grand Island died Wednesday, August 12, 2015, at Tiffany Square Care Center.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Grand Island City Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Teresa Mason will officiate.
A luncheon will be served at Trinity United Methodist Church following the graveside service.
Memorials are suggested to the Grand Island Veterans Home.
Margaret Martha Albers was born February 18, 1926, at ONeill, Nebraska to George and Emma (Putman) Thavenet. She grew up in Hastings, ONeill and Grand Island. Margaret completed her education while living in ONeill.
She married John Albers on February 12, 1947, at Hastings, Nebraska. The couple made their home in Hastings in the early years of their marriage. They later moved to Grand Island, where Margaret worked at J.C. Penny and the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant.
Margaret was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, and playing bingo.
Margaret dedicated her life to her husband, sons, and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary L. and Rona Albers of Phillips, NE; one brother and sister-in-law, Fritz and Carol Thavenet three grandchildren, Scott Albers, Brandi Kanning and Kellie Haynes; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Jonathan and Samantha Albers, Dillan Haynes and Grace and Sawyer Kanning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Albers; son, John E. Albers; and one brother, Orville Thavenet.
