Margaret Stroh, 83, died on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Cedars at Broadwell in Grand Island.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Shelton United Methodist Church with Rev. Michelle Byerly officiating. A private family burial will be in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday, April 10th before the start of the services. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
She was born on February 8, 1941 in Cuba, MO to Ted and Elizabeth (Bessemer) Dean. She grew up in Melvin, IA and received her education at Melvin Community High School. She was united in marriage to Gideon Stroh on July 2, 1961 at Rapid City, SD. After which the couple lived in Rapid City, SD, Alliance, NE and then raised their family in Shelton, NE. Throughout those stops she worked helping and serving others in nursing homes and retail.
She was a member of the Shelton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women Circle. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren play sports and activities, being a cub scout leader, teaching, was an avid reader and enjoyed cake decorating.
She is survived by her sons, Greg (Cindy) Stroh of Aplington, IA, David (Sandy) Stroh of Shelton, NE, Clark (Jennifer) Stroh of Colorado Springs, CO, and Paul (Debra) Stroh of Kearney, NE; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Clayton and Fred Dean; and a sister, Barbara Eickhalt.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
