Margo L. Schager

Margo L. Schager, 76, of Grand Island died Friday, February 5, 2016, at Country House in Grand Island.

Public memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. The Rev. Bill Pavuk will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Mosaic or the Central Nebraska Humane Society.

Mrs. Schager was born August 18, 1939, at Grand Island to Ralph and Irene (Henke) Webster She grew up and received her education in Grand Island, graduating from Grand Island Senior High School in 1957. She then attended Kearney State College.

Margo married Larry D. Schager on December 26, 1959, at Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island, and Margo taught elementary school until they started their family. She later worked with her husband at Grand Island Abstract.

In November of 2012 Margo moved to Country House in Grand Island where she resided at the time of her death.

Mrs. Schager was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church.

She enjoyed golf, traveling, playing cards, was an avid reader and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Chris Schager of Grand Island; her daughter and son-in-law, Marnie and Marc Sundermeier of Grand Island; and two grandsons, Preston and Jacob.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Larry Schager in 2001; and her sister, Kay Krull.
