Marilyn Harders

WOOD RIVER - Marilyn Harders, 59, of Wood River died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family. Ms. Harders was born May 11, 1953, in Grand Island to William and Viola (Corder) Hardenbrook. Survivors of the immediate family include children, Bobbi Harders of Omaha, Ryan Harders of Bellevue, Elizabeth Harders of Grand Island, Valerie Miller-Galvan of St. Paul, and Brandon Miller, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jan Alexander and LeeAnn and Todd Kucera; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Gerri Kelley, Doug and Jackie Hardenbrook, and Alan and Carol Hardenbrook. Additional survivors include her kitty Smokey, her ex-husband Randall Harders of Wood River; and grandchildren, Mikaela, Braden, Eli, Jaiden, and Liam, and one great-grandchild, Noah. She attended Lincoln Elementary, Walnut Jr. High, graduating from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1971. She enjoyed her grandchildren, her cat Smokey, gardening, and she was an excellent cook, especially sweets. She loved to ride and compete on horses at a young age in 4-H. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Cheeri, and an infant sister, Gail. Memorials are suggested to the family.
