Marjorie Ann Prettyman

July 29, 1941 — August 4, 2017

Hastings resident, Marjorie Marji Ann Prettyman, 76, passed away August 4, 2017at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings.

Memorial service will be 11 am, Saturday, August 12, 2017 at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Rev. Larry Harvey officiating. Marjories wishes were to be cremated. Burial will be at 3 pm Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the Alma Cemetery, Alma, NE. Book signing will be 6 pm to 8 pm Friday, August 11, 2017 at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings is in care of the family.

Marji was born July 29, 1941 to Emmet E. and Ruby S. (Pearson) Marr in Hastings, NE. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1959 and then attended Central Community College Hastings Campus for one year. Marji worked at the Hastings Public Library for 24 years. She married Robert D. Prettyman on March 22, 1982, Robert passed away on March 7, 2014 in Hastings. She was a Hastings native but also had lived in McCook and Blue Hill, NE.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hastings and was an active member of the Blue Hill United Methodist Church. She was a Sunday school and Bible school teacher and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of P.E.O and enjoyed being a foster grandmother to area schools.

Marji loved story telling with puppets and reading books. She had a strong relationship with Christ and her faith was very important to her.

She is survived by one daughter, Victoria Vicki Fuller, one son, Richard Rick (Tara) Fuller both of Hastings and one step-son John (Lesley) Prettyman of Yuma, CO, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, three brothers, David Marr of Duewest, SC, Daniel (Cheryll) Marr of Hastings, and Frank (Karen) Marr of Ft. Worth, TX, one sister Patricia Flury of Lincoln, NE and former husband George Fuller Jr. of Engelwood, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, daughter, Michelle Michener, step son, Curtis Prettyman, niece, Theresa Hutsell and sister-in-law, Paula Marr.
