Marlene A. Thorpe, 72, of Omaha, NE died on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Emerald Nursing and Rehab Lakeview in Grand Island, NE. Per Marlene’s request there will be no services.
She was born on February 11, 1953, at Omaha, NE to George Sr. and Eurelza “Corky” (Chandler) Thorpe. She grew up in Omaha and received her education at Benson High School. Marlene spent her working career as a reproductionist in the reprographics department for Continental Airlines.
Marlene was an adventurous and free spirit who would never let an animal go hungry. She loved the mountains and was very active in her younger years. As she grew older, she found joy through quilting, puzzles, and crafting of all kinds.
She is survived by her son, Roy (Laura) Wilson Jr.; sisters: Charlene Hagen and Allene “Scooter” (Lary) Smith; brother, George (Mary) Thorpe Jr.; seven nieces and four nephews; as well as her two fur babies: Binky and Jake.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Earlene Wakefield; and brother, Robert Thorpe.
