Marlene Willamae Schukei

Hastings resident, Hastings resident, Marlene Willamae Schukei, 76 passed away Saturday. January 23, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Marcus Mackay officiating. Burial will be in the Wanda Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Juniata, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Marlene was born February 14, 1933, to William and Hilda (Borchers) Schukei in rural Adams County. She was baptized and confirmed at the Wanda Zion Lutheran Church, Juniata, NE. She attended grade school grades 1 thru 8 at the parochial school at the Wanda Zion Lutheran School. She graduated from Holstein High School in 1951. Marlene worked at the Queen City Laundry and also was a very devoted long time employee of the CD Hoff Cleaners for over 30 years; she also did a lot of babysitting in her lifetime. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. She is survived by 4 sisters, Lois Bullard and husband Darrel of Hastings, NE, Joan Werner of Minden, NE, Janice Ulmer and husband LaRayne of Grafton, NE and Ethel Schukei of Hastings, NE. 5 nephews, 4 nieces and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 brother-in-law Pete Werner. Memorials may be given to the family.
