Marlis Margaret Otto

Former Hastings resident, Marlis Margaret Otto, 70 passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 in Lander, Wyoming. Graveside services will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 4 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be today, February 18, 2010, Friday, February 19, 2010 and Monday, February 22, 2010 from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Marlis was born January 17, 1940 to Charles (Chuck) and Mabel (Stanley) Heinrich in Hastings, NE. She graduated from the Hastings Senior High School in 1958 and attended the Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, NE graduating in 1960. She married Yale William Otto on September 4, 1960 at the First Christian Church in Hastings, NE, Yale passed away on February 9, 1989. Marlis helped her husband operate Ottos Bait Shop on West 4th Street for many years. She was the secretary for the superintendent of the Hastings Public Schools from 1974 to 1990. She was a member of the Mormon Church in Lander, WY. She is survived by many cousins, including Jean Rapp, Stan Haack Sr., Wanda Williams, and Craig Williams, all of Hastings, NE, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Yale. Memorials may be given to the family or the Morman Church in Lander, WY.
