Martin Edward Bray

Martin Edward Ed Bray, 80, of Grand Island, died Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Golden Living Center Park Place in Grand Island.



Memorial Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Sucks Lake in Grand Island. Military Honors will be provided by the United Veterans Honor Guard of Grand Island. A luncheon will follow in the Community Room at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.



Ed was born April 6, 1935 in Fullerton, NE to Martin and Sara (Skaife) Bray. He attended Grand Island Senior High until he entered the Army in 1953. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956.



Ed married Catherine Wesierski on July 28, 1960 in Grand Island, NE. To their union, they had 3 daughters.



He spent the majority of his life working as a mechanic, welder, and doing construction. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his immediate and extended family.



Ed is survived by 2 daughters, Stephanie and James Sheldon of Taylor, NE and Erica and Tony Sheldon of Grand Island, NE; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Brady, Sarah, Nick, Emily, and Jake.



He was also survived by 6 nieces; 4 nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.



Ed was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Barbara; 7 sisters, Evelyn Arnold, Virginia LeMasters, Bobbi Pitchler, Lois Hansen, and Jean Janky, and a brother, Les Bray; 2 infant sisters, and 2 infant brothers.
