Mary F. Behring

Mary F. Behring, 93, of Grand Island, NE died on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Tiffany Square.

Funeral services for Mary will be at 11 AM on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Resurrection Catholic Church with Fr. Vijumon Choorackal officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 to 10 AM, prior to the services, concluding with the Rosary at 10 AM

She was born on August 15, 1930 in Grand Island the daughter of August E. and Emily (Puncochar) Vodehnal. She grew up in North Loup and Ord and attended grade schools there until the 7th grade at which time she moved to Grand Island and graduated from St. Mary's School in Grand Island.

She was united in marriage to Lester D. Behring on January 11, 1949, in Grand Island.
After which the couple moved to Grand Island where she was a homemaker and a mother. She worked for the Glove Factory and for the Houston family for 5 years.

She was a member of Resurrection Church and the Altar Society of the Church, and Tops for 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, crafts, sewing, flowers, Bohemian music, and their cabin at Ericson Lake that their son built.

Survivors include: son, Steven (Kathy) Behring of Grand Island; daughters Sandra (Gale) Hill and Deanna (Arthur) Morrison both of Grand Island; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; and a brother, David J. Vodehnal of Lincoln, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; daughter, Denise; brothers, Danny and Irvin; and grandson, Zach.
