Mary Dubbs-Lore

June 5, 1945 — March 7, 2018

Mary Margaret (Wiles) Dubbs-Lore,72, of Grand Island, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, peacefully at her home surrounded by family. She was diagnosed with colon cancer in July of 2016. Mary was cremated. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family.



Mary Margaret was born June 5, 1945, in Nebraska City to Earl and Mary Louise (Everett) Wiles, Jr. She grew up in Grand Island and received her education in Grand Island. She graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1963. On December 8, 1963, she was united in marriage to Don Arthur Dubbs at the Methodist Church in Grand Island. After which the couple lived in central Nebraska, Wakefield, Wayne, and South Dakota. She was engaged in social work and nursing, and they owned a restaurant. In 1996, she earned her degree as a registered nurse from Central Community College. She married William Bill Lore on November 2, 2013, in Las Vegas, NV.



In retirement, Mary enjoyed traveling, baking-including wedding cakes, cooking, canning, sewing, quilting, puzzles, Black Jack, and visiting with family and friends.



Survivors of the family include children: Michelle Chelle (Mark) Meconio, Micheal Mike Dubbs, Margaret Maggie Dubbs, Mitchell Mitch Dubbs all of Grand Island; grandchildren: Angel, Leeanne, Mikayla, Chloe; brothers: Thomas Maneely of Columbus, NE, and Mark Rus Maneely of Las Vegas, NV.



She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Don Dubbs in 2009 and William Lore in 2017; sister: Pat (Ken) Brown; infant sister; sisters-in-law: Jan Maneely, Donnie OBrien; and nephew: Darren Dubbs.
