Mary E. Collinson

Mary Elizabeth Collinson, 88, of Doniphan, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island.

Services will be at 10:30 AM Friday at Doniphan United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tessa Zehring will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedarview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island.

Memorials are suggested to the Doniphan Cedarview Cemetery Association.

Mary Elizabeth Collinson was born July 19, 1927, at Doniphan, NE to Ralph and Alta Mae (Robinson) White. She grew up and received her education in Doniphan, graduating from Doniphan High School in 1944.

She was united in marriage to Richard A. Collinson on December 26, 1946, at Smith Center, KS. The couple later divorced.

She lived most of her life in Doniphan except from 1948 to 1969 in Akron, OH. Mary worked eighteen years as a timekeeper for New Holland in Grand Island, retiring in 1991.

Mary was a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbors of America.

She enjoyed various crafts.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters & sons-in-law, Sharon & Billy Allen of Mesquite, Texas, Nancy & Tom Wittenback of Garland, Texas, two sons & daughters-in-law, Richard Chuck & Barbara Collinson of Lambertville, Michigan, Michael and Cheryl Collinson of Doniphan; and one daughter-in-law, Sara Collinson of Doniphan, 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, brother, Daryl White of Grand Island and sister-in-law, Bernadine White of Doniphan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph & Alta White; son, Robert, brother, Kenneth White, brother & sister-in-law, Gerald & Meredith White, brother & sister-inlaw, Merle Pete & Helen White, sister-in-law, Joyce White.
