Former Roseland resident, Mary O. Zubrod, 94, died, Monday, September 17, 2007 at the Kenesaw Haven Home, Kenesaw, NE. Rosary will be Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 7:30 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, September 21, 2007 at 10:30 at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hastings, NE. with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from 5 PM to 9 PM and Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 9 AM to 7:30 PM and one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mary was born August 6, 1913 to Mathias and Appolonia (Bohr) Pitz in rural Juniata, NE. She attended school is Assumption, NE. She married Joseph Zubrod, February 22, 1928 in Roseland, NE he died July 3rd, 1992. They farmed in Roseland, NE then moved to Hastings, NE in 1973. She was a foster grandparent for Pooh Corner from 1974 to 1990. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Michaels Catholic Church, the Alter Society and and the Legion of Mary all in Hastings, NE. She is survived by, 1 son, Curtis and wife Mavon of Hastings, NE. 7 Grandchildren, Kevin, of Lincoln, NE, Troy of Hastings, NE, Joel and wife Janel of Roseland, NE, Christy Just and husband Terry of Hastings, NE, Cindy Holbrook and husband Scott of Lexington, NE, Stacey Zubrod, of Hastings, NE, Daniel Zubrod and wife Jina of Hastings, NE. 14 Great Grandchildren.3 sisters, Bertha Carpenter of Aurora, IL, Sister Clara Pitz of O'Fallon, MO, and Teresa Reines of Quincy, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, 1 son Daniel, 3 sisters, 4 brothers, 1 granddaughter and 1 great grandson. Memorials may be given to Hastings Catholic Schools.
