Mary P. Richardson

Mary P. Richardson, 74 of Grand Island, died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island with her family at her side.



Services will be on Tuesday, February 4, 2013 at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Rev. Paul Canady officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island. Visitation hours will be Monday evening from 5 to 7 pm at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Mary P. Richardson was born April 2, 1939 on the family farm near Ericson, NE, the daughter of Paul & Cecelia (Hardy) Johnson. Mary grew up and received her education at Ericson, Grand Island, Alda before graduating from Wood River High School in 1958.



She was united in marriage to Samuel E. Chub Richardson, November 27, 1959 in Winside. Nebraska. The couple made their home in various communities in Nebraska, moving to Alda in 1963. Mr. Richardson preceded her in death May 12, 1996.



She was a member of the Methodist faith.



Those left to cherish her memory include, four daughters, Pauline Richardson of Alda, Rebecca J. (Anthony) Richardson-Cruz of St. Paul, Daisy C. (David) Richardson-Kelly of Alda, Judith (Derald Jr.) Boltz of Alda. 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Marian Walters of Grand Island and Marie Walters of Hastings, and one brother, Mark Johnson of Bartlesville, OK.



She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Samuel E. Chub Richardson, and two brothers, Marvin and Marshall Johnson.
