Maxcine M. Morrow

Maxcine M. Morrow, 85, of Grand Island died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at Golden Living at Park Place. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday at Apfel Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Maxcine was born October 30, 1927, at Greeley, NE to Anton and Lydia (Peirson) Schlaich. She grew up, attending school in North Loup, Palmer and Greeley, NE. Maxcine married Marvin L. Morrow on March 25, 1961. Maxcine was a member of the Methodist faith and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Veterans of Foreign Wars. She enjoyed cooking, camping, playing bingo and was a Husker football fan. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Sue and Jack Welton of Ashland, NE, Rhonda White and Rose Morrow both of Grand Island; two sons and daughter-in-law, Harold and Coleen White of Grand Island and Marvin C. Morrow of Ashland, NE. Additional survivors include 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. Maxcine was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Morrow; five sisters, June Schlaich, Helen Schlaich, Lois Reynolds, Yuvetta Smith and Lillian Clark; two brothers, Max and Albert Schlaich; two sons, Melvin and Marvin White; and one daughter, Donna White.
