Michael L. Cloud, 49, of Lincoln died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Bryan LGH East Medical Center in Lincoln. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Russell Wolf will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family. Michael Lynn Cloud was born October 7, 1963, in Grand Island. He grew up in Grand Island and received his education in the Grand Island Public Schools. Following his education, Michael worked various jobs in maintenance and cleaning. The position he held for the longest, was as a wash attendant at Russs Car Wash. Michael enjoyed boxing and participated in Golden Gloves Boxing in his younger years. Michael moved to Lincoln in 2008 where he did volunteer work attending to the needs of the physically handicapped and helping distribute food and meals in a local food pantry. While living in Grand Island he attended services at the Abundant Life Christian Center. Survivors include his mother, Beverly Cloud of Grand Island; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Connie Cloud of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Tim and Karen Cloud of Grand Island; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Eileen Watson of Lincoln and Tina and Juan Ronquillo of Grand Island; his aunt, Rosie Cloud of Omaha and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Ligon; brother, Richard Cloud; grandmother, Ethel Barnum; and great-uncle, Leroy Patterson. Michael will be loved and missed by his family and friends.
