Mildred F. Rath

Harvard resident, Mildred F. Rath, 89, passed away, Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Harvard House Assisted Living, Harvard, NE. Services will be Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 10 am at the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard, NE. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Harvard United Church of Christ, Harvard, NE. Apfel Funeral Home, 505 N. Bellevue, Hastings is in charge of the arrangements. Mildred was born April 13, 1924 to George and Christina (Schmer) Weitzel on the family farm south of Harvard. She graduated from the Harvard High School in 1942. She married Raymond L. Rath on August 17, 1943, Raymond passed away in 1984. Together they farmed and had a dairy operation in the Eldorado area. She was a lifelong member of the Harvard United Church of Christ. She was affiliated with many of the church organizations and was in the Womens Fellowship. Her joy came from her family members and friends. She is survived by three sons, Raymond Rath Jr. (Emily), of Clarkston, MI, Glen Rath (Jacqueline) of York, NE and Gale Rath of Harvard, NE, 6 grandchildren, Zachariah Rath, Brea Sorgenfrei (Jerad), Levi Rath (Tori), Isaac Rath, Ryan Rath (Amy) and Adam Rath (Kelly), 4 great grandchildren, Colten Rath, Keaton Sorgenfrei, Jolee Sorgenfrei, and Cutler Rath and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond, an infant son, James and one sister and five brothers.
