Mitchell D. Meier, 32, of Omaha, died Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Methodist Medical Center in Omaha.
Services will be at 10:30 am on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island with Father Martin Egging officiating. Interment will be at Westlawn Cemetery in Grand Island. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 4 to 6 pm with a 6 pm Rosary Prayer Vigil at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Memorials are suggested to the National Foundation for Cancer Research.

Mitchell was born on September 25, 1985 in Grand Island to David and Connie (Raile) Meier. He grew up in Aurora, Colorado where he received his education, graduating from Grandview High School in 2004. Following graduation, he attended Pickens Technical School in Aurora, CO where he continued to live, working at Sam’s Club until he moved to Omaha, NE in 2017.
Many of his hobbies included fishing, shooting range guns, hunting, the outdoors, swimming, and watching sports, especially the Huskers and the Denver Broncos.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, David and Connie of Aurora, CO; niece and God-daughter, Brooklynn Denniston; sisters, Renee Meier of Grand Island and Carrie Denniston of Omaha; grandmother, Loretta Meier of Grand Island and grandfather, Dave Raile also of Grand Island.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Carl Meier, grandmother Elaine Raile, and uncle Richard Raile.
