Hastings resident, Nadine Janet Schiefelbein, 82 passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011 in Hastings, NE. Memorial services will be Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings, NE. Book signing will be Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Burial will be at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Nadine was born December 31, 1928 to James and Hazel (Fransen) Knight in Upland, NE. She graduated from the Hastings High School in 1945 and from the Hastings Central Community College in 1969 in Dental Technology. She married Robert Lee Schiefelbein on May 30, 1947 in Hastings, NE, they later divorced. Nadine lived in the Hastings area most of her life and worked at the Barrel Bar for over 30 years. She was a member of the St. Marks Episcopal Pro Cathedral Church, in Hastings, NE. She is survived by 2 sons, Robert and wife Linda of Tacoma, Washington, and Steven and wife Audrey of Beaverton, Oregon, 5 daughters, Carol Stewart and husband Stephen of Castle Rock, CO, Kim Schiefelbein and Darwin Buscher of Hastings, NE, Lori Corley and husband Brian of Cedar Hills, TX, Debbie Smith, and Merrie Gillham and husband Scott all of Grand Island, NE, 10 grandchildren, Wade, Abby, Mathew, Tasha, Mollie, James, Brooke, Patrick, Troy and Leah, 6 great grandchildren, Taylor, Devyn, Tayton, Tyce, Austin and Kiya, and 1 sister, Maxine Sorensen of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her ex-husband Robert Lee in 2000, and son-in-law, Gene Smith. Memorials may be given to the Mary Lanning Hospice or the St. Marks Episcopal Pro Cathedral Church, both in Hastings, NE.
