Hastings resident, Nona D. Speake, 66 of 618 Saunders, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be Wednesday, January 25 at 10:30 AM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE, with Mark Elliot, Director Of Missions, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairfield Cemetery. Fairfield, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 24, 2005 from 8 am to 9 pm at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, and one hour prior to service time at the chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family from, www.brandwilson.com. Mrs. Speake was born December 13, 1939 to Alvin Leroy and Lila (Johnson) Dunkle in Edgar, NE. She attended school in Edgar, She married Bill Speake, June 3, 1974 in Marysville, KS. They renewed their vows at their 25th wedding anniversary June 3, 1974 in Hastings, NE. She was a certified staff member at Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, NE from 1965 to 1975. She then was a psych tech at the Hastings Regional Center from 1982 to 1992. She then went into human services at the Central Community College, Hastings, NE. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church, in Sutton, NE and also taught Sunday school and was the church keyboardist there until September 2004. She then took an early retirement in 1992. She is survived by, husband Bill of Hastings, NE, 3 daughters, Sheila Speake, of Lincoln, NE, Karla Polland of Dallas, TX, and Laurie Stevenson of Hastings, NE, 7 Sons, Tony Mulinix, of Grand Island, NE, Curtis Mulinix of Hastings, NE, Danny Mulinix of Greeley, CO, Michael Mulinix, of San Diego, CA, Greg Droppleman of Hastings, NE, Danny Speake of Center Harbor, N.H. , and Jason Speake of Utica, NE. 27 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 sister Betty Shaw of Deweese, NE. She is preceded in death by, both parents and 1 brother. Memorials may be given to the family.
