Hastings resident, Norma Jean Stocker, 86, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, NE.
Services will be Friday, October 27, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw with Reverend Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw. Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5-8pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in care of the family.
Memorials may be given to the family to be designated at a later date.
Norma was born November 3, 1930 to Neal and Vena (Coleman) Evans in Beloit, KS. She attended Superior public schools and graduated from St. Paul in 1948. She received her nurses training at the Mary Lanning School of Nursing in Hastings and was an RN. She was a surgical nurse for Dr. Fred Rutt in Hastings, Director of Nursing at Haven Home, Kenesaw and retired from the Hastings Regional Center.
She married Orville L. Stocker in February 1966 in Kenesaw, Orville passed away October 5, 2003.
Norma was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Kenesaw, Ladies Aide and she was a member of the Red Hat Ladies in Kenesaw.
She enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren. She loved pets, camping, knitting and needle point.
Norma is survived by two sons: Mike (Amy) Moul of Kenesaw, Mitch (Brenda) Stocker of Hastings, 7 Grandchildren and spouses, Matthew Moul of Omaha, Allison (Bobby) Meester of Ashby, NE, Ben McDowell of Prosser, NE, Austin McDowell of Blair, NE, Nicholas McDowell of Minden, Hilary (Forest) Caldwell of Hastings, And Mason (Megan) Stocker of Basehor, KS, 6 Great Grandchildren, Roy, Linda, Forest, Grace, Bristol and Ace.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Orville.
