Hastings resident, Norman Kirchhevel, 79, of Perkins Pavilion, died, Friday, August 04, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, NE. Services will be Tuesday, August 8, 2006, at 11:00 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE with the Rev. Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Monday, August 7, 2006 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilsonfh.com Mr. Kirchhevel was born July 19, 1927 to Edward and Helen (Pfhal) Kirchhevel in Mansbridge, South Dakota. He served in the Army from February 2, 1951 to January 23, 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He married Freda Mikkelsen on Febrauary 13, 1955 she preceded him in death September 2, 2003. He farmed till 1972 in South Dakota. He was an agricultural technician at the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center from 1972 till retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, in Hastings, NE. He is survived by, 1 daughter, Ruth Kirchhevel of Omaha, NE, 3 sons, Arlin and wife Carol of Omaha, NE, Loren of Sidney, NE and Keith of Sedan, MN, 3 Grandchildren, Dan, Sara and Michalene, 1 Great Granddaughter, Hailey, and 1 sister, Alma Storjohann, of Chadron, NE. He was preceded in death by his wife Freda, his parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Memorials may be given to the Peace Lutheran Church or the National Parkinson Foundation.
